Moroccan sites classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites

the World Heritage List comprises 962 cultural and 188 natural property properties and 29 mixed communities within 157 member states. It is recognized that 190 countries have ratified the World Heritage Convention. Morocco was one of the countries that ratified this agreement and it was inaugurated on October 28, 1975. Since the ratification of this agreement and the registration of several archaeological sites within the World Heritage List:

FEZ was recorded as a world heritage in1981.

The ancient city of Marrakech was registered as world heritage in 1985.

The histirical city of Meknes was registered in the world heritage in 1996.

The old city of tetouan was registered as a world heritage in 1997.

The ancient city of Essaouira (Mukador) was registered in 2001 as a global cultural heritage.

The portuguese city of Mazagan was registered in 2004 as a world heritage.

The palace of Ait Ben Haddou in ouarzazate was recorded in the world heritage in 1988.

Archeological site of lulele was recorded in world heritage in 1997.

The Tan Tan season (amocar) was recarded in 2005 within the nom- tradional cultural heritage.

The Djemaa el fna square is registered as a cultural space in 2001.
