Went To A Trattoria In Vittorio Veneto 3 Days Ago And When The Owner Heard Us Talking About WW1 She Presented This Picture From 100 Years Ago After The Battle Of Caporetto

in history •  7 years ago  (edited)

We went to Vittorio Veneto today and after a great visit to the local museum, we had organised a fan meeting in a local Trattoria. When the owner overheard that we were talking about World War 1, she went back to another room and came back with this incredible picture:
It was taken in November of 1917 right after the Battle of Caporetto and shows German soldiers in the exact Trattoria that we were at. The old man and old lady you can also see in the picture were the owners back then. It is also very apparent that the German soldiers were enjoying the local wine a lot.
