My posting today is about one of the small towns among other cities in Aceh-Indonesia.
Lhokseumawe City

the city of Lhokseumawe is derived from the words Lhok and Seumawe. in Aceh, Lhok means bay, while the word Seumawe is a swirling current or a whirlpool. The existence of the city of Lhokseumawe very influential in the heyday of the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai around the 13th century, the city of lhokseumawe became part of sovereignty during the heyday of the Sultanate of Aceh at that time.
Lhokseumawe city name also comes from the name of an Aceh warrior during the Dutch colonial era before the 20th century, named Tgk. Abdul Lhokseumawe, he was a nobleman who was a Uleebalang in 1903.
Of the two categories above, is a brilliant idea of the early fighters of Aceh, so that was born the name of the city of Lhokseumawe in the province of Aceh, Indonesia.
In the 20th century, among all areas of Aceh, only the small island Lhokseumawe town was separated by the Cunda River.
Kota lhokseumawe includes four districts, namely:
Banda Sakti Sub-district.
Muara Dua Sub-district,
Blang Mangat sub-district.
Muara Satu District.
This is a piece of the story of the origin and birth of the city of Lhokseumawe to become an administrative municipality used as a trade and distribution path in the eastern region of Sumatra.
The city of Lhokseumawe has now changed much further though its city is still small when compared to the Dutch colonial period,
and here are some pictures from the corner of the city of lhokseumawe-aceh in the present.
