A short note on the battle of Waterloo

in history •  7 years ago  (edited)

In 1815 Napoleon reach France from Elba, where his faithful soldiers and officials joined him. The allies forgot all their differences and prepare themselves to crush him. They accused Napoleon of disturbing the peace of Europe. Napoleon had a firm faith that he would defeat the joint army of the allies. The allies also organized two armies under the chief commander Duke of Wellington and Marshall Blucher. Blucher was defeated at Ligny. The Duke of Wellington gathered a huge army on the plains of Waterloo. In June 1815 a furious battle was fought for seven hours on plains of Waterloo. Napoleon and his soldiers fought gallantly but were defeated in the Battle of Waterloo (1815). This battle sealed the fate of Napoleon forever.
