Buying Original German WW2 Items

in history •  7 years ago

Just a few words of caution when it comes to buying "original" items.
I was at the Show of Shows in Louisville this year and I seen a greatcoat for sale. I asked the man how much it was worth and he said $300. I asked what division and he said SS. So I knew it was a definite scam.
100$ Isn't that bad of a price for a repro SS Visor, I'm not a full expert on WWII Germany equipment, I know a little bit about it, but the American gear is my area of experties. And the cap doesn't look original because of the shape it is in.
