Girls of the Beat Generation

in history •  6 years ago  (edited)

The Beat Generation was a counterculture movement that originated from writers and poets who challenged the culture and the values of society after the second world war. The Beatniks strayed from the postwar conservative American culture of the 1950s and expressed free love and sexual experimentation. This pre-hippy sexual liberation is present in the artists' book series 'Girls of the Beat Generation' by photographer Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
