CBS News Bulletin: Lee Harvey Oswald Flight and Capture (1963)

Approximately 45 minutes after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963, a Dallas police officer named J. D. Tippit was murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald shot the police officer at point blank after being stopped by Tippet.

Thirty minutes later, Oswald was arrested at a nearby movie theater. The pistol found on him was later tied by ballistics to the shooting of Tippit. After being taken to the police department Oswald was also accused of the assassination of Kennedy.
