Historical Atlas of Mesoamerican Civilizations
This is a historical "atlas" of Mesoamerica. It has over 60 maps of Mesoamerica, starting from the rise of the Olmec civilization at 1500 BCE and ending with the Spanish conquest at 1550 CE (3,050 years of history).

The maps show you the most important civilizations, cultures, cities, empires, and archaeological sites (including the Aztec Empire, the Toltecs and the Mayan city-states) how they expanded and when they fell. They also show you some of the most important and interesting monuments, such as the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan.

The Index drop-down menu lets you see any map.

The other drop down menus bring you to the earliest appearance of a civilization, city or monument. For example, clicking on Aztec brings you to 1425 CE.

This site is recommended for students and teachers of early Central American history.
