These days lots of people know or at least have heard about magical ring from Norse mythology called Draupnir. But what is it exactly?
It’s one of the greatest pieces made by the dwarfs Eitri and Brokk for god Odin. Draupnir is a golden ring. The story says that every ninth night are eight other rings dropped from Draupnir and each ring is as heavy and bright as the first itself. So the ring could make any man or god extremely wealthy.
This ring, as known, was one of three gifts made by dwarf brothers and they were produced because of a bet! The other two gifts were god Thor’s axe-hammer and god Frey’s golden boar.
Another interesting fact, the ring was burned with Odin’s young son. After that Odin put the ring on Balder’s funeral pyre and added the information about its magically replicating itself. Story also says that Draupnir has been to Hel and back.
