Masterpiece Of Baekje Kingdom, Buddha Statue

Gilt- Bronze Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Sculpture Of Baekje Kingdom In Gongju Museum

After looking around the relics of King Muryeong, I went upstairs to second floor of the museum to look at other relics of Baekje Kingdom.
What I’d like to see was gilt-bronze Bodhisattva Sculpture in the age of Baekje Kingdom.
I heard that one priceless relic of Baekje kingdom was displayed on the second floor.

It was believed that this sculpture had been made in 7th century.
If it was made in 7th century, this sculpture seemed last work in Baekje Kingdom which was collapsed in 660 AD.

This statue was designated as the national treasury N 247.
The height was about 25 cm. Even though this sculpture was small size, the appearance of the face seemed delicate and perfect.

It’s smile was mysterious and calm.

The appearance of the face seemed to be localized.

This sculpture looked very elegant, especially it’s hand and bottle was so elegantly carved in my opinion.

I hope you adore the photos of the sculptures.
It’s balance was perfect. So I took photos from various direction.

The level of craftsmanship in Baekje kingdom seemed even much more advanced than that of following kingdoms.

I’d like to have a chance to explain this matters.

The world doesn't know much about Korean history. It is interesting to know that in the medieval times Korea was one of the strongest bastions of Buddhism. This precious sculpture indeed provides the evidence. Thanks for sharing :)

I know little about Baekje. It was a kingdom located in southwest Korea and It was one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. Thank you for sharing. I like reading about history. And thanks for the photos.

A tremendous journey to the Masterpiece Of Baekje Kingdom, Buddha Statue
The never-ending history to pass and enjoy, the Bronze Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Baekje Kingdom Statue in the beautiful Gongju Museum.
And the remnants of the kingdom of baekje very outdoors can be with a very long history
With the remains of the gold bronze Bodhisattva Statue in the days of the Baekje Kingdom. This is an important note about the events of the seventh abatement and how the story of the royal collapse.
Statue with very legan that can be enjoyed and made something interesting to know.
A meaningful and unpretentious journey.
Nice to follow your trip @slowwalker.

I have also come to neighboring Malaysia, and I had visited a giant statue that is located adjacent to the city center in malaysia

What an amazing and detailed work of art! I have watched the drama about painting, Korean alphabet, ceramics, Korean traditional food and cooking .. But I haven't see whether any drama about sculpture, yet. Your posts are enrichment to my curiosity about Korean history. Thank you for sharing.

I just wondering how they create the patterns, the details of everything really made my eye's widening and can't get my eyes off of it.

Im so happy I stumbled upon your post @slowwalker. My favorite thing to do is to go to museums. I dont know much about the korean culture but I have experienced korean food. Im definitely intrigued in knowing more about Baekje. Thank you for sharing.
