The Myth on The Birth of The First Queen in Shilla Dynasty.

in history •  7 years ago

There are common stories in the myth of the Royal Family in Shilla dynasty

There were 3 family names in Shilla dyansty.
As I told in previous posting, the first family name who opened Shilla dynasty was ‘Park’

After the Park, ‘Seok’ family became a King.
Seok family had also similar myth with Park Hyeokgeose, the first king.

Third family was the ‘Kim’
They also had same myth with ‘Park’ and ‘Seok’

In this posting, I’d like to introduce the myth of the first Queen.
The first Queen of Shilla dynasty was believed to be born from the flank of the Dragon near the well.
Her name was ‘Al yeong’

There are complicated interpretation on the record of the birth myth

It is told that there are some allegory when it comes to the animals of the myth of birth
Dragon looked like a political power from the sea. In other hands, White Horse could be interpreted as a political power coming from northern nomad.

In the myth of the First King and Queen’s birth myth, we could estimate the Royal family as a conjunction between Sea power and Northern monad tribes.

One thing you need to keep in mind is there was no interpretation on the characteristics of White Horse found in the myth of First King, Park Hyeokgeose.

But in my opinion, the white horse could be interpreted as a symbol of Northern Nomad.

Anyway one thing marvelous is you can see the well where is believed the birth place of the First Queen as below

At the gate of the building

P3090208.JPG

The well was covered with the stones

P3090210.JPG

P3090211.JPG

There was a pond in front of the well .
It seemed like a kind of monument for the well.

P3090193.JPG

There were 5 Royal tombs.
These Royal tombs were said Park families’
It is believed that 4 king of Park family and the first Queen were buried.

P3090229.JPG

It was a meeting with the myth, I had enjoyed that moment for long time.
There was not a people when I stopped by there.
I was not disturbed by anyone.
I slowly wandered around the Royal tombs.
It seemed like that I had a dialogue with the early Kings of Shilla dynasty.

There was a building for the ceremony for those Kings by their descendants ‘Park’

As leaving the Royal tombs, I took the photos of the portal

If you’d like to be with the world of myth, the 5 Royal tombs are essential place to visit.

👍

why every one of mythical stories we have to believe with the story itu.jika no evidence then this story is not a myth but it is true with the prove there is an old well that is believed to be the birthplace of the princess

You have great photos.. :)

Wonderful post about the Myth behind the dynasties great family names. Having the place linked to the first Queen of Shilla dynasty all to yourself sounds like a great archaeological adventure.

There is something magical about visiting an ancient site on a quiet day, when there aren't many people around. You can really feel the weight of history at times like that.

@slowwalker nim, I've seen this setting in a tv series with my favorite actress in the movie "minio non kerowo" but I wonder if it's the same place
am talking about the one where she was a mermaid :D

These royal tombs are ... almost surreal! Too far for me ...

Good story, I found this place so relaxing.

Great write-up with the perfect photos to back them up.
I sure would love to visit this great place some day.

Hola amigo
Estupenda la historia y las fotografías.
Su significado en español "Silla" y esta dinastía pertenece a uno de los "tres reinos de Corea" que existió entre los años 57 a. C. y 935.
Gracias por todo y Saludos
