Hi guys! Today I was cleaning the attic and I found an old box with some old stuff in it. Inside it was also a 10 Guilder bill or as we used to call it in Dutch: Gulden.
This was our currency until 1th of January 2002.
The exchange rate was set at 2,20371, that would make this 10 Gulden bill worth today about 4,5 Euro. Unfortunately, the time to exchange for euro's at the banks has expired for a while now. But if I could I probably wouldn't exchange it and keep it to show to my children when they grow up.
The guy on the 10 Gulden bill is Frans Hals and was a famous Dutch portrait painter who lived in Haarlem in the late 16th century.
The box has stuff from the time I was around 10 years old, so this bill is about 26 years old (which makes me 36 years old) :D
Actually, this bill could be easily older than 26 years if you look at the state of it, it looks pretty used!
