I am reading a fascinating book The Origins of English Individualism 1978, by Alan Macfarlane (a very educated guy from Cambridge). Now I am not a heavily educated person. I have only 2 years of college, so I am not trying to criticize or analyzing this book. It has spurred me on to write my opinion. I love books that challenge me. Now on with my ramblings:
There is a book that I believe in because of my pervious readings and experiences. It is Power VS. Force, The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior, By David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph. D. This book tells of the energy levels of different components of human emotions. Humans may have several emotions where one emotion may interact with another. It is my understanding at this time that history, which is economic and social interaction, is based on emotional energy. The energy field that we are born with is determined by genetics and karma. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to understand it and try to improve it. Each individual adds or detracts from a society when all the energy of a group is added together.
Yes, it is all about attitude. You may have an attitude of 310 (willingness) but you are with a group with many that have an attitude of 100 (fear). Is your attitude or higher energy level high enough to get that group to overcome their fear so they might be willing to try something new? What was Mother Teresa's energy field? 500 (love) or 540 (unconditional love & joy)? "only 0.4% of the world's population ever reaches this level of evolution of consciousness." Pg91. Power VS. Force
The Origins of English Individualism, which I haven't finished reading yet, gives great background on the change from the peasant world to the industrial world and the social pressures that caused the economic change.
To understand this world an understanding of emotions is imperative. Every thing is energy. I highly recommend reading these books. They will expand your mind giving you more power to manage your world, wherever your world is.
