The art of surgery is known to us for many years but it was not always known, the world of past was unknown to this revolutionary medical technique so any internal physical problem was treated with just hope and prayers. The western who entitle themselves as the inventor of Surgical arts are unknown to the facts that the Era of Surgical rise was started long before they come to rise.

The western people accept that the the art of medical treatment is successive invention of Already available ayurvedic treatments but in the field of Surgical inventions they regard themselces as its inventor. But the truth is that in the time when the islamic era was at its finest A name rose "Abdul Qasim Zahrawi" who enlightened the world with the art of surgical treatment and found cure for many diseases which were considered Incurable...

The Path to Surgical Father:

Al-Zahrawi was born and raised in Al-Zahra’, a suburb of the town of Qurttoba (Cordova) in Andalucia (now in Spain). It is narrated that his family tree was originally from Al-Ansar of Al-Madina Al-Monawara (now in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). He is known in the Western literature as Albucasis, Abulcasis, Bucasis (Latinized forms of his Arabic nickname Abu al-Qasim).He was an innovative surgeon who added many original contributions to surgery and medicine.

"What ever I know, I owe solely to my assiduous reading of books of the ancients, to my desire to understand them and to appropriate this science; then I have added the observation and experience of my whole life."

Al-Tasrif is an illustrated encyclopaedia of medicine and surgery in 1500 pages. The contents of the book show that Al-Zahrawi was not only a medical scholar, but a great practicing physician and surgeon. His book influenced the progress of medicine and surgery in Europe after it was translated into Latin in the late 12th century, by Gerard of Cremona, and then afterwards into different European languages, including French and English. Al-Tasrif comprises 30 treatises or books (maqâlat) and was intended for medical students and the practicing physician, for whom it was a ready and useful companion in a multitude of situations since it answered all kinds of clinical problems.

The book contains the earliest pictures of surgical instruments in history. About 200 of them are described and illustrated. In places, the use of the instrument in the actual surgical procedure is shown. The first two treatises were translated into Latin as Liber Theoricae, which was printed in Augusburg in 1519. In them, Al-Zahrawi classified 325 diseases and discussed their symptomatology and treatment. In folio 145 of this Latin translation, he described, for the first time in medical history, a haemorrhagic disease transmitted by unaffected women to their male children; today we call it haemophilia ...

Al-Zahrawi And The Modern World -

About 90% of the techniques used today are just an updated form of the techniques Al-Zahrawi has described, His book Al-Tasreef is considered as the foundation of Surgery which is the Result of his toil... His book was taught at many colleges until the end of 19th century, and was the source of producing Talented surgeons who could benefit the world through their Discoveries...

Even today we use o many of the Al-Zahrawi Prescribed tools and techniques.....

The Conclusion :

Todays world has forgotten the father of surgery, because we have left the rope of history there will come a day when even we will be forgotten... And rather than praising ourselves we should give the credit to the Scientist who laid the foundation of many arts with toil efforts...
