Hello everyone!
Today I want to tell you about the center of Saint-Petersburg. To be exact, about the Hermitage Museum (Winter Palace).
It is the historical center of the city.
Palace was biuld in 1762 as a main residence for Russian emperors.
So, once I've found a book with many old photos of Saint-Petersburg and that was really amazing!
And got the idea of comparing this photos with today reality. I was confused how many things has changed...
This is the view from the Neva river embankment. Later the lion statues and the pier were removed due to the construction of a Palace Bridge.
On this photo you can see that they were moved to the right, further from the Winter Palace.
And in addition - two time-travel photos.
Thank you for attention! Sincerely yours, @technofox!
