Photos like this remind me of how Africa is yet to be fully liberated. They awaken my distaste of white supremacy over her rich soil till this day.

I am taken back to a virgin continent with its unexplored territories. The land that would later provide manpower to develop the boastful west.

These photos remind me of my relentless ancestors. Their struggle for my motherland's independence and freedom.

I am reminded of Africa's warriors who died on sea, foreign battlefields, cotton plantations or under a white man's whip.

I can't digest the anger and the confusion that came with being separated from one's true family then segregated in foreign lands.

The inhumane deeds melanin had to endure. The being branded as slaves.

They remind me to reprint Africa's history... change this demeaning narrative... celebrate those who tried or are trying to free my Africa.

To tell her undocumented stories... ♥️🇰🇪
