Hattusa - The Capital City of the ancient Hittite Empire

In Boğazkale, where cultural events dating to 5,000 years ago are encountered, the first capital, Hattusa, is the Hittites who founded the first state. Hattusa is one of the 9 values ​​in our country Turkey which is taken to the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO in the heart of Anatolia.

Hittite civilization is at least as old and rich as the civilization of Egyptian civilization. Kadesh Treaty text tablets made between the Hittites and the Egyptians were found in Boğazkale. In addition, the biggest and most impressive sacred place of Hattusa is the Yazılıkaya Rock Temple, which is hidden outside the city and hidden between the high rocks. More than ninety gods, goddesses, animals and imaginary creatures are processed on the rock surface in the temple.

Boğazkale District is a sub-district of Sungurlu District; In 1987, taking into account the touristic situation of the region, it was transformed into a town and bound to Çorum. Bosphorus settlement is located 82 km southwest of Çorum Province.
The discovery of Hattusa and Yazilikaya took place in 1834. Between 1835 and 1894, individual studies were conducted by various foreign archaeologists; Since 1904, the German East Cultures Research Center has begun excavation works. Since 1939, excavations have been continuing uninterruptedly.
Boğazkale Hattusa and Yazılıkaya ruins were declared as National Parks in October the 10th, 1998.

Boğazkale is the capital city of Hittite civilization, Hattusa. The first settlement began in the Chalcolithic era; Hattushas, ​​which was the site of the Assyrian trade columns after Hattiler in the first Bronze Age, became the capital during the Hittites period. In 1986, Hattuşaş was taken on UNESCO's list of "World Cultural Heritage", taking action taking into account the touristic situation of the region. Boğazköy is a subdivision of Sungurlu, and its name has been translated into Boğazkale and became a district connected to Çorum in 1987. Çorum is one of the most popular of Anatolian culture traditions that have been created by thousands of years of various civilizations. Corum region, which is almost an open air museum in terms of the richness of historical documents, has been used by European travelers, many local and foreign scholars Has become the focus of attention of his men.

There was a documentary about the Hittites, Haluk Bilginer, Burak Sergen and Fikret Kuşkan acted as Hitite kings if I am not mistaken. Battle of Kadesh and the first agreement in history with egyptians, but they are really undervalued in current history books. Nice post!
