The Second Boer War

This beautiful young lady who is dead now and who I would totally date because I am a gold digger is Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. She was the queen of Netherlands I think that's pretty cool.

So she tells this lovely gentleman who goes by the name Wilhelm II (German Emperor) to please help in the Boer war.

The Boers were the people from the Netherland who had settled in South Africa. The British Empire was like we want this land to be our colony so in 1900 they annexed the Orange Free States.

The reason Wilhelm the 2nd refused to help is because the German Empire did not have a mighty enough navy. In my 2nd post I talked about the militarization of Germany.

So as you can see Gemanies plan to have a larger navy was to ensure they would not lose their colonies to the British Empire.
