My grandfather was born outside of Rogers, Texas in January 1927. He's lived by himself since grandma passed away in 2009. At the age of 90, he is just about as independent as ever. I enjoy listening to his stories about the old days.
This past Saturday, I told him about Amazon Unlimited and how I can access any song ever recorded on my phone for about $8 a month. He kind of laughed and shook his head, leaned back in his rocking chair and said, "Back in the 1950s, an ol' boy ask'd me if I'd heard the new Hank Snow song. We drove to a place over off Harrisburg in The Heights so we could listen to it on the jukebox."
Touché, Pappaw. Touché.
