Beautiful footage Ash!!! I am looking to buy my first camera for vlogging. But my budget is low. Could you be kind enough and suggest me a good camera for both photography and videography in mid-range. Like somewhere around $500-$600. I am a noooob at this.

Canon EOS 250D might be an option. did not use it but it should have great auto focus, decent battery time, and an option for external mic. and it has a rotating screen. and it is around that 500-600$

or maybe used 200D and add some lenses

Vlogging camera - hmmm, I’m not sure, it’s not generally something I know much about.

My GH5 was only £980 brand new with a lens and 2 x batteries.

But, this article might shed some light.

Th best features to look out for would be rotating screen, great battery life and directional microphone (which would be an extra accessory but worth it)
Any other features are a bonus.

I use GoPro Hero4 silver a lot. Very good old(ish) model.
Pick one up for 120-150 second hand. Has a touch screen. Great features. Very easy to use and mount. They’re not for everyone and have a very ‘GoPro’ look to them but it’s a good place to start 👍🏻

Thanks man! I’m really pleased with this camera. It handles light beautifully.
And the variable frame rate is just amazing.

It was shot 1080p at 180fps.
I did shoot some 4K, just for curiosity’s sake, but my tiny MacBook Pro couldn’t handle it. (My iMac is at the office and wasn’t accessible whilst I did this for fun.)

At the time when I bought my Sony a6500, I was looking at Gh5 as well, just price difference was a bit higher 😁 but looking to Panasonic lens you can get very good deals and I still love my small Panasonic gx80 with 25mm 1.7f. Believe, after new software update gh5 auto focus been improved as well.

Ah I see.
Yeah I shot this on the 25mm 1.7 - it came free with the camera as a promotional thing. It’s a pretty amazing lens really. Equivalent of 50mm or so.
I got a metabones adapter for my EF lenses, but again, they’re at the office - so no chance to play with them properly yet!

The autofocusnos good from what I’ve played with so far. I tend not to shoot AF but when it’s on a gimbal it will need to work!

well the quality of the shots is incredible! Even just random moody clips make a pretty dang nice short film when shot and edited so skillfully :) can't wait to see more from your toy. @tipu curate

Ah thanks for watching and saying so mate! It was a bit random whilst shooting but funnily started to feel like it carried some meaning as soon as my daughters eyes took the stage!
I love shooting on this camera, so no doubt more videos will follow 😎

i wanted to say while watching the video but you said it at the end. slow motion looks good. one thing i really hate that canon is intentionally not integrating in its lower budget cameras...

Absolutely. Canon have always been crap at keeping up with variable frame rate options, sadly.
I’m looking at the C200 as my next camera (to upgrade from my C100mkii which only does 50p) and it really only does 120fps max, in Full HD. Which is better than 50 but still not amazing, to say the Sony FS7 does a whole lot more in a similar price bracket.

Canon badly need to up their game.

i just hate that they cripple it just because. magic lantern was a great hack for dslr but they struggle with new models.
i don't even mind lack of 4k (or good 4k) as I don't have pc to handle that comfortable and if you look stats over 50% on tube is watched on mobile, but good slow mo would be nice

and i suck with selling things, so i will be stuck with it until they start to suck terrible, or till steem goes to the moon 😁
