An Europa League group stage game. frankly as a Real Sociedad fan I was expecting much more from the team especially after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford. Omonia held them off for most of the game and the Real first goal was a very good shot from out of the area, only way they could score. I though this would open up the Cypriot team, but no they continued playing in an orderly fashion and were able to score a goal on the 75th minute due to a terrible Real Sociedad defensive mistake.
Now Real Sociedad went out for the win, when they already had it in their pocket. Lucky for them they were able to score the winner in a counter attack conducted by Kubo who made a great cross and goal. This was on the 80th minute, after this Real went back to defending this minimal difference until the end. I was disappointed, to say the least, winning doesn't mean you have to go back and defend, it means you can control the tempo of the game and you can speed up things in an instant and have the rival constantly wrong footed. But if what you do is give up your hold on the midfield you can end up grieving your mistakes.
Only good thing about this game was winning and probably have the qualification for the next round very available.
