It is no longer a news that the D'Tigress of Nigeria, the female Basketball team representing Nigeria at the 2024 Olympic games shocked the entire basketball world today by beating one of the best female basket ball team in the world. Australia has been ranked 3rd in the world just behind United States of America and China respectively.

The Nigerian female basket ball team started their lead right from the first quarter by winning narrowly with 18 points to 17. They progressed into the second quarter with more confidence, and increased their lead by 12 points winning by 23 to 11 points. Meanwhile the Australian giants fought back in the third quarter, trying to reduce the points by leading the D'tigress by 9 points (19 to 10).

Prior to the commencement of the fourth quarter, a lot would have been going on the mind of millions of basketball lovers watching the game in real time. They might be thinking about a comeback for the Aussies Female basketballers. Meanwhile, the Nigerian beauties have determined to make the continent of Africa proud. They have determined to make their father's land proud. They have determined to put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians who are watching in the midst of hunger and hardship. So, they did not disappoint us. They made us proud and shock the entire basketball world by winning the fourth quarter by 24 to 15 points and thereby defeated the world number three (3), the Opals of Australia by 75 to 62 points.

The victory was the first win for Nigeria since Athens 2004

I must say I was surprised by their performance. At least, they're one of the few, if not the only team that's giving Nigeria hope at the games, even though there's still a lot to be done.

I don't follow much basketball although do quite enjoy watching it. I'm assuming the USA are the best and then who would it be?
