Nazmul Hasan Papon resined. End of an era. A new chapter opened for Bangladesh Cricket.

Greetings. I am @sabbirakib from Bangladesh. Within a week, we remarkably witnessed one of the great historical movements in our country. Protests based on discrimination between ordinary students and freedom fighters' descendants went over and caused the fall of Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. As a result, many of her co-ministers had to leave the country like her. Many of them resigned like her. Nazmul Hasan Papon is one of them.

Nazmul Hasan Papon was the elected President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board from 2012 until his resignation a few days ago. If I say Elected it will be wrong. There was no competition in his post for the last decade. After former BCB and ICC President AHM Mostofa Kamal joined as ICC President, Papon was selected for this post. He was a sports organizer and Chief of Abahani Limited, Dhaka; a historical sports club in Bangladesh.

During his time as the President, we saw a lot of ups and downs. Bangladesh cricket team was in Apex of our history during his time. We almost beat every top cricket-playing nation. Bangladesh arranged the Two Cricket World Cup in the meantime. An ODI World Cup jointly with India and Sri Lanka and a T-20 World Cup.

Under Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, we were fearless on our home ground Mirpur. We beat World Champions India. The first-ever Test win against Australia was also his time. He gives us a lot of joyous moments.

There were other parts of the coin. He was accused of various times for corruption. There was an accusation about Coach selection that he got a direct percentage of the coaching staff's salary. However, this rumor was never investigated or discussed. Just a rumor.

He and other BCB authorities had some serious issues with senior campaigners in Bangladesh. Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza spoke at various times about it. Players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Tamim Iqbal even decided to leave the National Team many times. Some of them retired from different versions silently. Two of them used Facebook to announce their retirement. All the blame goes to Papon as he influenced them to do so. There was a conflict between coaches and players on many occasions. He silently supports the coaches which is not liked by reporters and fans.

Fans wanted him to resign before. There were many protests about this. But he remains. But now things turned down as Sheikh Hasina escaped Bangladesh and all of her supporters followed that. Papon also did the same. He even resigned as President of BCB. This is the end of an era. An era of ups and downs. Hopefully, BCB will find another great President who will work to develop Bangladesh Cricket. Thank you all.
