I'm probably not the only one who was pleased to see a Ferrari qualify on Pole Position, not just because I have Charles Leclerc in my fantasy team, but because I think we'd all like to be seeing Ferrari competing for race wins. And having grown up and still living in Monaco, a race that Leclerc's never managed to finish, there was something romantic about it.

It felt a little unfair on Max Verstappen that this pole position was confirmed as a result of Leclerc putting his car into the wall, but I think he took it quite well...

Come race start time on Sunday though and Leclerc's Ferrari not fit to start the race, Verstappen was in prime position to take the win.

And that's exactly what happened. The only overtaking on track that I am aware of was missed by whichever clown was directing the footage, preferring to show Lance Stroll do nothing instead of showing Vettel and Gasly battling it out. All of the other changes happened in the pits with Mercedes in particular making a bad decision with Hamilton. The race was so boring, I fell asleep for half of it and am absolutely certain I missed nothing. The most boring GP on the calendar. Fortunately, it's Azerbaijan next which is a race that is always entertaining.

The final standings looking like this:

  1. Verstappen
  2. Sainz
  3. Norris
  4. Perez
  5. Vettel
  6. Gasly
  7. Hamilton
  8. Stroll
  9. Ocon
  10. Giovinazzi

More importantly though, this is what it means for our Fantasy F1:

Which means that I've overtaken @gabikay at the top. There's a long, long way to go though and plenty of time for this to change between now and the end of the season.
