Having done Goalkeepers and Defenders on Wednesday, Midfielder analysis yesterday, today's the turn of the Forwards.

Harry Kane (29 points) and Jamie Vardy (18 points) have now completed their 5 games with fairly respectable scores. I'd have liked more from Vardy considering his price but analysis changed after this so I won't complain. As ever, the past performance of my picks is available at the end of this article.

Time to look toward the end of the season though and as usual, I'll pick up to 2 players in each position -

  • the primary pick based upon all analysis
  • a cheaper pick if the primary's a premium option.

As always, I'll begin with my custom metrics, which are the same as my Midfielders article, including every team:

As with yesterday's article, I'm going to focus my efforts on teams that have 3 fixtures over the next 2 Gameweeks with those teams being Liverpool, Southampton, Everton and Man Utd. I'll include Crystal Palace and Aston Villa today due to the lack of options in the Forwards compared to the Midfielders.

I expected to be worried about game time across the board here and to some degree, I am. On another week, I wouldn't have included Aston Villa but their inclusion has seen Ollie Watkins top our charts. Che Adams, Danny Ings and Edinson Cavani would all feature higher if you could be sure of their game time but you can't. Calvert-Lewin however is assured of starts which would put him on level pegging with Watkins and ahead of Richarlison.

So for me, it's between Watkins and Calvert-Lewin for our joint Premium and Budget Selection.

Aston Villa's remaining fixtures are: Man Utd (h), Everton (h), Crystal Palace (a), Spurs (a) and Chelsea (h). Ouch.
Everton's remaining fixtures are: West Ham (a), Aston Villa (a), Sheffield United (h), Wolves (h) and Man City (a). Hmm, not great but a couple of plum ones in there. And a Man City team with one eye on the Champions League Final.

Everton also have more to play for in their fight for Europe so I'm definitely favouring Dominic Calvert-Lewin here.

So, let's look at his last 3 fixtures:

Not the most convincing 3 matches but those touches pretty much sum up his season. The tap-in king. I'm struggling to see an alternative though so he's my Forward selection for this week.
