When José Mourinho was fired at Tottenham, it was not long before he was introduced as the new Roma coach. The Portuguese will first take over the seat in Rome this summer, but he has already started looking for reinforcements for his upcoming team, that according to the Italian media Gazzeta dello Sport.

Roma otherwise have Edin Dzeko on contract for another season, but the Bosnian striker should want to leave the club, which the parties are currently holding meetings about. Therefore, a new striker is needed, and Mourinho should have exposed himself to a Dutchman who is very reminiscent of Dzeko.

According to the media, it was supposed to be Wout Weghorst. The almost two-meter-long striker has played a huge role this season in Wolfsburg's return to the Champions League. The Dutchman has scored a total of 20 goals this season, and he has thus only been surpassed by Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and André Silva in the Bundesliga.

Since switching to the Bundesliga from AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, the 28-year-old Weghorst has been the guarantor of goals. In his three seasons for Wolfsburg, he has scored a total of 63 goals for the club, which means that he scores on average in every other match.
