Aurorafalter ■ Orange tip

Anthocharis cardamines (Linnaeus, 1758)

Der Aurorafalter ist ein Tagfalter aus der Familie der Weißlinge (Pieridae). Im April wenn sich die ersten Blüten des Wiesenschaumkraut zeigen, ist auch er wieder zu finden. Die längste Zeit hat es gedauert und dann fliegt er wieder. Gerade weil er zu den ersten Tagfaltern gehört, freue ich mich auf ihn jedes Jahr ganz besonders. Das Weibchen legt seine Eier an Wiesen-Schaumkraut (Cardamine pratensis) und an die Knoblauchsrauke (Alliaria petiolata). Bevorzugt werden halbschattige Standorte. Die erwachsene Raupe verpuppt sich an einem Stängel in der Vegetation und überwintert. Der Falter fliegt in einer Generation und ist noch regelmäßig zu finden.

The Aurora butterfly is a butterfly from the family of Pieridae. In April, when the first flowers of the cuckoo flower appear, it can be found again. The longest time it took and then it flies again. Especially because it belongs to the first butterflies, I am looking forward to it every year. The female lays her eggs on cuckoo flower (Cardamine pratensis) and the garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata). Semi-shady locations are preferred. The adult caterpillar pupates on a stem in the vegetation and hibernates. The butterfly flies in one generation and can still be found regularly.

Die Aufnahme habe ich am Mondsee fotografiert. Dort kann ich im April immer die ersten Aurora finden.

Das kann natürlich nicht sein, denn der Raupen hätten nichts zu fressen. Aber sobald man das erste Wiesenschaumkraut entdeckt, ist auch der Aurora zu finden.
