My wife and I finally got around to watching the Netflix show about Aaron Hernandez from the New England Patriots this week.
It was very interesting and it is also a bit scary to learn about all of the things that concussions and things like that can do to your brain.
Obviously, he had a whole bunch of other things going on in his life that you will learn about if you watch the show. I don't want to spoil anything for anybody.
CTE is the disease that they are now pairing with concussions and it would be interesting to see just how many professional athletes have some form of it.
I know a lot of people think that the games have gotten soft. In fact, I probably complain about that sometimes myself. It is important that we protect these athletes though.
Hernandez was only 27 when he took his own life. That is just too young. Beyond sports some of these players have a lot of good they can do for the community and the world in the remainder of their lives. Buying them the time to do that is overly important.
