The top four race seems to be the only serious issue on ground now after Liverpool continue their impressive run against struggling Manchester United in the game week 23, other clubs in the top flight should now focus on how they can book European competition ticket come next year. Chelsea football club occupies the number four position on the log table and their form recently has dropped compared to when the season begins, they have dropped some vital points in most of the matches that they should have won easily and the question now is that can they still make the top four come end of the season so that they can retain their UEFA champions league next season. They started the season well even when everyone never see them pulling such a wonderful performance but the recent form is surrounded by a big question mark.
After lifting the ban impose on the club in the summer transfer window, everyone has been anticipating about who will be the fresh legs at the club because so far this season, their performance can only be evaluated on the level of young academy players that they have put their trust in with fewer senior players in the team and they have done so wonderfully to earned the manager trust in every of their encounters. Despite the fact that the club were given a go ahead to sign new players this January, the club has remain silent over the signing of good and experienced player which is making many of the club fans to be so furious about what is really happening at the club because if any club is going to hit the market so hard this in this January transfer, it should be the club, having been linked with many players, the are yet to bring in new player in some of the department that need it.
Other clubs behind them are now putting the pressure on them, clubs like Manchester United, Wolvehampton, Sheffield United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are all on the same range of thirties with them and looking at their next four fixtures in the league, they may just find their way of the the top four if proper care is not taking, they will be facing Arsenal, Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham which is going to be a tough games and what will decide their faith in the top four race. Leicester City occupies the third position after loosing the second position to Manchester City after seeing their performance dropped recently, they are just 6 points ahead of the Blues and is going to a tough game to watch out for. Although Arsenal which is their next opponent in the league is on 29 points and their sitting on number ten position behind Crystal Palace, the game is also going to be another game to look out to with Manchester United and Tottenham on the queue as well. The club now is on 39 points with just 5 points ahead of Manchester United and Wolvehampton which are on fifth and sixth position respectively on the log table with the same points and if the Blues will still retain the spot they occupies now come February 22, then they have to have at least 8 points from the possible 12 points.
