The last month has been one of the toughest in my investment career. To grow sometimes you have to take risks and when you take risks, sometimes things don't turn out the way you expected.

During the first part of the year I made several investments that left my liquidity reserves low. This is a very important mistake - you should never compromise your liquidity reserves!

The perfect storm blew up when the taxman came in claiming more than I expected, the market dropped sharply, I lost supporters in Steem as a witness and various technical glitches in my infrastructure caused me to drop out of the top WAX blockchain producers. I needed to take a break and rethink my position.

Another mistake I have to admit against me has been the lack of proper investment diversification and when you are overexposed to one asset you can find yourself in serious trouble if the value of that asset falls and you need immediate liquidity. It is not about being the most committed investor in the project you love the most, but about being an organised and cautious investor so that when you face a storm, you can live to fight another day instead of losing everything. The wider and stronger our base is, the higher the building we build can be.

For the past few weeks, pessimism and worry have been my companions. I even communicated to my fellow Witnesses my intention to give up and shut down my servers.

But mistakes are there to learn from them and come out stronger, better prepared. I have tried to reorganise my remaining assets and plan the work ahead of me. The future continues to appear before me hidden by dark clouds. But I have to keep working.

I have been forced to reduce my investment in Steem but fortunately I am still in a position to resume my @DKPromoter project for content promotion on Steem with an initial delegation of 100000 Steem Power. All my servers (producer, APIs and peers) continue to provide uninterrupted service.

I want to thank @zzan.witnesses for the support he has given me, as well as @UPVU, @rme and all those community members who with their vote as Witness ask me to keep working and fighting for this community.

I really feared that my time in Steem was coming to an end, but I see that the last chapter hasn't been written yet. I hope the bear market gives us some breathing space. In the meantime your support is what drives me to keep working.
