Syrup and Elixirs seem to be similar at first glance. In fact they are pretty much the same. But they differ from each other because of its main ingredient. The basic ingredients of syrup are water and sugar. The main ingredients in Elixirs are alcohol and water. Now let's look at about syrup and elixirs separately.

Syrup is a solution prepared using the monophasic method. It is also an internal pharmaceutical preparation obtained orally. Of the solids, semi-solids and liquids, the syrup belongs to the category of liquids. The main ingredients are water and sugar. In addition, glycerin, sorbitol, coloring agents, polyhydric alcohol and preservatives are other constituents of syrup. Syrups are classified as Medicated syrup and Non-medicated syrup. Syrups are available as a with or without medicaments. A medicinal flat bottle with a screwed cap is used for the syrup. And also receive a suitable measuring device. The measuring device is used to measure the required dose. Black label is used for syrup. The syrup can be stored at room temperature.

Elixirs is a liquid dosage form created using the monophasic method. It is also an internal pharmaceutical preparation. Among the solutions, suspension and emulsion, elixir belongs to the solution. The main ingredients here, which differ from syrup, are alcohol and water. In addition there are glycerin, sorbitol, sugar, preservatives and coloring agents. There are two types of elixirs. If they are, medicated elixir and non-medicated elixir. And elixirs are available as a with or without medicaments. A medicinal flat bottle with a screwed cap is use for elixirs. And also get a suitable measuring device to measure the dose. Elixirs can be stored at room temperature.

Elixir has a high percentage of alcohol in it, so it can quickly become addictive. It is therefore inappropriate to use these arbitrarily.

Read some biochemistry stuff after a long time and refreshed what I learned during my university time.

We all need medicines at some occasions and it is our duty to have them from prescribed dose at the correct time. antibiotics need to take at right time unlike other drugs.
