Same thing. Different Channel. | BATTLE MONTH |17

I was used to watch TV evey day morning while getting ready to go to school and at evenings since each channel casted really good cartoons such as 'Apple Aadhipaadhathumaa', 'Gnaana Kathaa Malli', 'Suura Pappa', 'Dostara Hodahitha' and 'Scooby Doo'. News and some teledramas also have been watched but overtime I got distance from the TV maybe because I lost the interest or something.

But during lockdown days I again got a chance to get back with the TV because there wasn't any other thing to do with that long free time and I became amazed with the uniformity I saw in each local channel. Tell me whether you have felt the same in the comment section.

Evey channel starts with National Anthem and Pirith at about 4am. Ok, that is a ritual and a good thing. Then some channels do astrological programmes which say "how will today be like to you according to your zodiac sign." Astrology is actually a subject spread all over the world and there are people who both do and don't believe it. So, I don't criticise it. Then come the morning programmes for women which talk facts about health, handicrafts, cooking, cosmetics and self-business.

If you watch TV in afternoon you will feel like you live in South India because of all the Tamil movies. Some channels cast their own old teledramas and some Sinhala movies over and over meanwhile. Evening is actually my favorite since these days they show those old cartoons again❤. They start to cast news from 6.30pm but news of which channel do you watch? I feel like some channels only show news which is good for a selected specific political party.

After news, then comes the mega teledramas. They even give rewards to people who watch those😅. But why are those dramas based on love, village life or family problems most of the time? Singing reality shows and chatting and singing shows with few artists at weekends also continue for years. Even the programmes casted on New Year, Vesak and Christmas in many channels also look same for me.

But I admire every program on Jatika Rupawahini since they always give us the best and 'Lakshapathi' and 'The Voice' in Sirasa. I don't watch any teledramas these days. What do you watch?

Oh my mother watched it and I also have watched few episode including the last one. That one was super great different.

Yeah you are correct and I agree with you about our broadcasting channels. I feel empty with every channels these days. But I spend about an hour to have a visit on cartoons haha😄 These days I got a chance to watch a TV series called සමුදුරු සුවිසැරිය ( Sea Quest ) nearly after 10 years on Jathikarupavahiniya in weekdays. I think it's better that they didn't change a bit. Coz I can rejoice my past times even now with same feelings ❤

සමුදුරු සුවිසැරිය

I have heard the name but couldn't get a chance to watch it. But must give it a try.

can rejoice my past times even now with same feelings ❤

Actually this is why I watch old cartoons and listen to old songs. What I really enjoy is childhood memories entangled with those creations.
