What are you guys think about that? Are we succeed over the fire? Actually not... Why I'm saying that... Although we blow-out the fire, the ecosystem will take long time to recover and more over we lose and, we will lose hundred and thousands of lives in the recovery period.
How this kind of misfortunes affect to the marine organisms? The ocean is everything to them, it protects them, it feeds them, it gives their breath... more and more things are there. So.. this kind of shits can collapse their entire life cycle.

When we consider about the oil spills, since oil float on the water, creatures who are correlative with the sea surface can listed as the most affected ones. Let's see how it happens...

Usually, sea birds are feed on the fish. For that, some of them have to dive into the ocean. When they dive, their feathers and plumage can cover with oil. As they can't change their body temperature with environmental fluctuations, their feathers are very important to maintain their body temperature. But oiled plumage and feathers reduce that ability and they face to difficulties in flying and floating.

And air-breathers such as sea turtles, whales, dolphins must come to the water surface to breath. Floating oil can harm in the inhalation. Debrises, oil, and other components can increase water turbidity and decrease light penetration. This can effect on the primary producers and that cause the breakdown of food chain. Less food resources increase competition for remaining food sources.
If acidic substances spill, water become more acidic. Because of that shells and skeletons made from Calcium carbonate can be dissolved. To repair their damaged shells, they have to spend extra energy. As the acids break apart Calcium carbonate, available Calcium carbonate in the sea water can decrease. This results thinner, small shells and slow-growing, breakable coral reefs. This kind of corals can easily erode and smaller shells offer less protection. High acidic level and pollutants stress the corals and cause coral bleaching.

Oil layer can decrease the air exchange between ocean and atmosphere. As egg and juvenile stages have less defense, they are more susceptible than adults. The decrease of population in that levels will cause low individuals in future.

There are so much things addition to the above mentioned. We can't turn back the things that already happened. But we can take it as a lesson. As we are in the middle of the silk route, this kind of things can happen in future. There are somethings that we can't heal with money. These living and non living creatures do great work without expecting anything. At least we should not disturb them.
