The capital of southern Sri Lanka is Galle. This is my hometown.

If you want to visit Galle, you can visit some of the most beautiful places in the city. Its main location is the Galle Fort. The Galle fort was built in the fall of 1588 during the Portuguese rule. It was extensively modernized during the Dutch period in the 17th century. Galle Fort is one of the thirteen most beautiful cities in Asia due to its antiquity.The Galle Fort was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 due to its ancient value. According to a classification made by the CNN Institute of America, the Galle Fort Wall is gaining international attention. When you go up to the Galle Fort, you can see the beauty of the city of Galle. You can also see beautiful views of the beach. You can also see the beautiful old buildings of a small town surrounded by the Galle fort wall. The old clock tower located there is a beautiful sight. The Galle fort wall was built as a fort. There is also a place where prisoners are kept.

The city of Galle also has an ancient coastal port. Due to that port, the city of Galle has a historical value.

This Galle International Cricket Stadium is one of the reasons why the city of Galle has gained international attention. Cricket can be clearly seen on the Galle Fort while playing cricket at this stadium. Another exotic beach can be seen around the city of Galle. It is the Unawatuna beach. It has attracted a large number of foreign tourists as well as local tourists.

Since our childhood, this is one of our favorite destinations and even most of the school annual trips were headed to Galle. So, I started loving this place, Galle from my childhood.

Galle is my home town too. We usually go to Galle fort in every weekend. I never get tired of going there. Museum,court,ground,fort,bus stand,park.. love everything about my town. Town has been modified and it looks beautiful now even more.

During the last Sinhala & Tamil new year vacation, our family went to Unwatuna for a day out. Due to the pandemic situation there were few locals and no foreigners at all. The water was very clear and we had a sea bath too!!!
