You may remember one of the articles about *Dining Etiquette* which I wrote. Those etiquettes were about how we should behave at a dining table. This article is also talked about some important dining etiquette as well. Let's learn some Dining Etiquettes.

🍴Seating Etiquette

Source
When you go to dinner with a bunch of friends, there is no etiquette for seating. You can sit on any seat at the dining table. But there are some seating etiquettes for a Formal Dining.
✷ Always the Host/ Hostess should be seated on the Head seat. (Head seats always for the Hosts/ Hostesses)
✷ The guest of honor should be seated on the right side of the host.
✷ If there any second important guest, he should be seated on the left side of the host.
✷ All these seating arrangements should do by the host for all other guests.

🍴Napkin Etiquette
Knowing these Napkin etiquettes is also very important. Most restaurants keep napkins on the plates or on the table right next to the plates. Do as follow when you are seated.

Source
✷Take the napkin, unfold it, and put the napkin on your lap.
✷ Keep the napkin on your lap until you finish your meal.
✷ Don't use this napkin for your personal needs.
✷ Keep the napkin right next to your plate(left side/right side) in case you want to excuse yourself from the table. Don't keep it on your seat.
✷ When you finished your meal, the half-folded napkin keeps the left side to your plate.

But when in a formal dinner, the napkin is unfolded after the host/hostess unfolds the napkin and puts it on his/her lap. Then, other guests can unfold their napkins.

🍴Eating Etiquette

✷ Wait until others are served before you start to eat at a restaurant.
✷ Wait until the host/hostess starts to eat at formal dining.
✷ Don't cut food more than two bites at a time. It's good if you cut food only for your next bite.

🍴Rules with Silverware and other Dinnerware

The following picture shows the setting of plates, spoons, knifes, forks, and glasses.

✷ Normaly a meal start with a soup and some appetizers. These appetizers are small breads and there have small butter cups also. Here you can use the butter knife for applying butter on breads. As well, you can use the soup spoon when you drink the soup.

At the Main Course
✷ When you cut food, take knife to right hand and hold the food by dinner fork.
✷ Then, place your knife on the edge of the plate and the blade of knife should be in.
✷ I f you are a right hander, you can switch the fork to your right hand. This is American style. When in European style you can't switch the fork. It always keep in left side.

🍴Cutlery Signs

There are some cutlery signs also. It's so important to have some knowledge about it. The following picture shows some cutlery signs and use those as per your requirement.
