Hello everyone,
Today I am going to introduce about special topic. It is international space station(ISS). I have curios how people live and work and doing their day to day life in micro gravity environment. Then I search on internet, watch YouTube and found very interesting fact about space station. On this topic I will explain what I found. I think you also have curious about this.

Space station is the largest satellite and it consist of several modules that are owned by five agencies like NASA (united states of America), Roscosmos (Russia). It is the most expensive man made structure. It cost around 150 billion dollars to build. The laboratory in the ISS have conducted over 3000 experiment based on zero gravity, dark matter in the universe etc.

The space station is in low earth orbit 400km above earth’s surface. It is very near considering to some other satellite are in away 35,000 km from earth’s surface. There are six or seven astronauts that are working on some research. The crew astronauts are change in every 6 months because living in zero gravity for long time period is cause some health issue. ISS is assembled as several number of individual parts, Because of it is a very large and cannot launch as one part. The first part was launched in 1998. Then 15 modules were added together and complete stage by stage. You can watch in this link more details about how all the module were attached and how they function.

ISS has large number of solar panel for generate electricity. The solar panel is reflecting the sun light and because of that the ISS can be seen by naked eyes in the night. ISS take only 92 minutes to complete one orbit. it is the third brightest object in sky so you can easily see the space station. We can see that bright object is moving little bit fast because the speed of the space station is 28, 968 km/h. It is amazing isn’t it. You can track ISS and find where it is right now and its path using this link.

Let’s look at how astronauts live and doing day to day work. Someone can think living in zero gravity is very interesting. Yes, it is interesting if you are live in zero gravity for short time period. For astronauts the time period is minimum 6 months. in earth we stand on our legs and they become strong when we walk. But for astronauts, their legs get weaker because there is no gravity to walk. The bones also get weaker because zero gravity. So they doing exercise in some specially made exercise machine. All foods are dehydrated and stored in packet. Some can be directly eat or some should mix with water. Water also in packet and there is tube to suck the water from the packet. Otherwise water will float everywhere. It will be huge problem. Then how they bath. They use wet towel for clean their body or use little bit of water with specially made shampoo or soap and quickly use towel to dry water. For sleep there are sleeping bag attached to the wall. Astronaut go inside the bag and tighten. Then they will not move during sleep.

Thanks for shearing interest uncommon story. Some time I am watching short video of that astronauts life inside space station.I can't believe how they spend 24 hrs continues 6 or 7 months with zero gravity. The skill and talent of them unbelievable.

I have a very little knowledge about space science, crafts and stuff. But I read the whole article and got an idea about ISS.

minimum 6 months

I can't even imagine that people are interested in participating on those missions. Must be a whole different experience.
