Today I’m going to tell you a bit sad story. In my achievement 1 I have told you about my home town. I live in Kandy. My best friend lives in a village few miles away from me.

As you all know it is a bad period for Srilanka as we suffer from many disasters. While the pandemic situation is getting worse here many areas were affected by floods. People have lost their livelihood. My friend’s village has also subjected to severe floods. Villagers are helpless at the moment.

Last night I discussed with other friends and thought of giving a meal to the people who are highly suffering from this natural disaster. So I spoke with my friend and got the count of people who need food at the moment.

As discussed I gave an order of 500 breads to the nearby bakery in my area and for bread we made a dhal curry. I went with all meals to my friend’s village with my other friends. All of us went by our bikes.

I will share some images that I could take while reaching the village. It was really difficult to go by the bike because of the water level so we walked for some distance.

As you can see in my pictures this area is severely affected by floods. Many children have lost their school books and even they don’t have a proper place to sleep. People have gathered in places where they feel secure.

This is how we gave bread to all the people in the village.

They really thanked me a lot. We did our duty to them in every way we could. My friend also helped a lot with this work. Many were stranded in the floodwaters. They have gone to safe places. There are a large number of people in our country who are affected by such disasters. It is really our duty to help them.
