Remedy’s Control will be coming to Steam this August as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X in later 2020.

Control Ultimate Edition Releases On Steam August 27th

Publisher 505 Games and developer Remedy Entertainment have announced the Control Ultimate Edition will be coming to PC via Steam on August 27th. This version includes all the available DLC The Foundation and the second expansion AWE (Alan Wake Experience) which will also be releasing the same day.

Control Ultimate Edition will also be coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC via Epic Store, as well as next-generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X. You can check out when these will be released according to platforms below:

  • September 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store (digital edition)
  • End of 2020 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (physical edition)
  • End of 2020 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (digital edition)
  • Early 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (physical edition)

Those who purchase the Ultimate Edition on Playstation 4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X for free. The free upgrade is not available for those who purchased the original Control version.

The latest DLC Control: AWE will be releasing this month, which follows the Alan Wake Experience. It adds roughly 4-5 hours of gameplay, and will feature new jobs from caretaker Ahti. There will also be the addition of new enemies, the Airborne Ranger and an additional light-based mechanic which comes from Alan Wake.

August is also the arrival of a free update for all players, which will add a new Surge form to the service weapon, which fire sticky grenades capable of dealing a high amount of destruction. The update also adds more save spots and checkpoints, plus a new upgrade for the Launch power and a new “Assist Mode” which allows players to adjust settings such as Jesse’s energy recharge rate, the amount of damage Jesse can take and the speed of the service weapon reload.
