A total of 140 racers or racers from various cities for two days, Saturday and Sunday (8-9/12/2024) competed in skill by participating in a grasstrack race on a non-permanent natural circuit in Sagoe Village, Peusangan District.
The motorbike racing skill competition in crossing the racing area in the village was held by Yonif 113/JS together with the GTX IMI Aceh team and received a warm welcome from thousands of residents watching the Aceh automotive sports grasstrack event.
Sagoe Village, Peusangan became lively and turned into the center of attention for Aceh automotive fans with the holding of the grasstrack race.
The Chief Organizer, Danyonif 113/JS Letkol Inf Dobby Noviyanto S SE said that the grasstrack event was not only intended as entertainment for the community but also as a place to develop talent for young racers.
"We want to create an activity that encourages the spirit of sportsmanship and creativity of the younger generation, while promoting the potential of automotive sports in Aceh," he said.
Participants were divided into various categories based on age and type of motorbike used. Starting from the U-22 category, the general beginner category to the general professional category, the racers showed their skills across the muddy and winding track specially designed in the Sagoe Village area.
The enthusiasm of the audience was also seen throughout the race. Residents of Sagoe Village and its surroundings flocked to watch the adrenaline-pumping action of the racers.
The committee also presented various entertainment, such as music performances and a local culinary bazaar, which added to the lively atmosphere.
The Chairman of IMI Aceh, H Miaza Mubaraq, was seen appreciating the collaboration between Yonif 113/JS and the automotive community in organizing this event.
"Collaboration like this is very important for building automotive sports in Aceh. We hope this event will become an annual agenda," he said.
The race was closed with awards given to the winners of each category. The event also received special attention from the elected Bireuen deputy regent candidate Ir H Razuardi MT who also attended to enliven the event.
The overall champion was won by a racing team from Banda Aceh, who received a trophy and cash prize.
It is hoped that activities like this can continue to be developed to provide a space for expression for automotive lovers and support the development of grasstrack athletes in Aceh.
