A long-lost happy smile radiated again from the face of Wahyu Rizal, a young man who has been bedridden since childhood due to a mild stroke. Now, at the age of 40, he received a meaningful gift, namely a wheelchair from the Aceh Regional Police Chief (Kapolda), Inspector General Pol Achmad Kartiko, SIK, MH.
This touching moment occurred when the Bener Meriah Resort Police Chief (Kapolres), AKBP Tuschad Cipta Herdani, accompanied by the Main Officials (PJU) of the Bener Meriah Police, visited Rizal's modest house in Kampung Blang Benara, Wih Pesam District.
Saidah, Wahyu Rizal's mother, could not hide her surprise when the police group arrived at her residence.
"I was shocked, why are there suddenly so many police officers in my house," she said with sparkling eyes, mixed with emotion.
Gratitude and thanks flowed from her lips.
"Thank you to the Aceh Police Chief who has cared for my child. This wheelchair will greatly help his daily life," he said.
It was not only Wahyu Rizal who felt happy that day. Tasmi, a 63-year-old grandmother, also received the same wheelchair. The assistance was a form of attention from the Aceh Police Chief in collaboration with the Aceh Provincial Social Service.
The Bener Meriah Police Chief, AKBP Tuschad Cipta Herdani, explained that the provision of these two wheelchairs was a real form of concern for people in need.
"Hopefully this assistance can provide benefits and help the daily activities of the recipients," said the Police Chief.
On the other hand, Suriyanto, Reje Kampung Blang Benara, who also accompanied the handover of this assistance, expressed his gratitude.
"We are very grateful for the attention and assistance from the Aceh Police Chief and the Social Service. Hopefully this good deed will be a field of reward for all involved," he said with emotion.
This story is not just a handover of assistance. This is a story about rekindled hope, about concern that transcends barriers, and about the presence of police officers who not only maintain security, but are also present as friends of the community.
In the cool air of Bener Meriah, Rizal and Tasmi's smiles bear witness that small acts of kindness can create great happiness.
