Bireuen Regency Government Targets to Reduce Stunting by 14 Percent by 2024

Bireuen Regency Regional Secretary (Sekdakab), Ir Ibrahim Ahmad, MSI, opened the coordination meeting of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) held by the Bireuen Community and Village Empowerment, Women and Family Planning (PMGPKB) Service, Wednesday, 13/9/2023, at Regional Secretariat Oproom.

The Bireuen Regency Government, and its staff, continue to make various efforts to reduce stunting, in order to meet the target of 14 percent, as well as being ready to face the performance assessment in 2024. This was stated by the Regional Secretary.

The Regional Secretary said, to achieve this target, of course you have to look at trends or developments from now on and the efforts that have been made, because until now, stunting is still a national priority program.

"The invited participants in this coordination meeting are the main actors in handling stunting at the sub-district level. The determination of a special location (locus) for stunting in one gampong (village) is due to several factors, which must be given serious attention and maximum intervention compared to other villages," he said .

"To be able to achieve the stunting reduction target, of course we all have to work together and work together, and collaborate together," said the Regional Secretary in a meeting attended by assistants, heads of SKPK, sub-district heads and other related elements.

"I hope that this meeting will be a strategic step for the Bireuen Regency Government in building synergy between various sectors. So, we can play an active role and become the basis for all of us to be able to implement convergence to accelerate stunting reduction in Bireuen," hoped the Regional Secretary who is also the Chair of the Bireuen TPPS.

Previously, the Head of the Bireuen Community Empowerment, Women and Family Planning Service (DPMGPKB), Ir Mukhtar, MSi in his report said. This activity was attended by 97 participants, consisting of regional officials, related organizations and academics.

The aim is to strengthen the participation and capacity of the relevant TPPS team, in realizing the acceleration of stunting reduction. Integrating the potential of human resources, finance, facilities and infrastructure, as well as existing methods and technology in the government and related sectors, he explained.
