Welcoming the 79th Anniversary of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (HUT NKRI) on August 17, 2024, the Bireuen Police Resort (Polres) collaborated with the Indonesian National Army (TNI), the Yon B Lhokseumawe Mobile Brigade (Brimob), and various related agencies to hold the 'Gampong Merah Putih' event.
This activity was carried out in Cot Nga Village, Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, on Friday (2/8/2024), and was attended by elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), the District Leadership Deliberation (Muspika), and students.
Bireuen Police Chief, AKBP Jatmiko explained that this activity aims to foster a sense of nationalism and the spirit of independence day among the community.
"This event is part of our efforts to honor the heroes who fought for Indonesia's independence. We hope that the spirit of Independence Day can be felt by all Bireuen residents," said Jatmiko.
The Gampong Merah Putih activity involved mutual cooperation between the Police, TNI, Brimob, Muspika, students, and the local community.
This activity included painting the meunasah fence and road dividers, as well as installing red and white flags along the village roads and residents' houses. In addition, this event also provided free health and medical services for the community.
The Bireuen Police Chief also handed over basic food assistance through the Nusantara Cooling System (NCS) program to underprivileged residents and orphans.
"We want Cot Nga Village (Gampong) to be a symbol of the spirit of struggle and love for the homeland. We invite all elements of Bireuen society to commemorate independence with enthusiasm and love for the homeland," said Police Chief Jatmiko.
This event is expected to inspire the people of Bireuen and its surroundings to celebrate independence with enthusiasm and pride. In addition, the ranks of the Bireuen Police, TNI, members of Brimob Yon B Lhokseumawe together with elements of the Forkopimda, Muspika Peusangan and others, carried out mutual cooperation activities.
At the end of the activity, the Bireuen Police Chief together with elements of the Forkopimda, Muspika and the community held a cooking party for a joint lunch.
