Potato Sack

Wolf howled and Dragon woke up with a start. What was that sound? Was Wolf having a nightmare or was the moon hiding behind a cloud?

With a leap, she was outside and peered between the trees. Had something changed? Curiously she took a few steps forward. What she saw seemed familiar. A bath she roared cheerfully and the flames spouted from her mouth with joy. How long had it been since she had met that knight and shared a hot dip with him? She grunted with pleasure and her stomach growled along with it. She could use a bite after all it was long past midnight.

Instead of walking, she decided to fly. The view was much better from above and a sweet odour tickled her nostrils, one she could not ignore.
One, two, three, she took a trot, flapped her wings, and zoomed through the air. It would not be long before morning broke, and then it would be over with most of the pleasure. The forest had become quiet after the departure of all the unwanted guests; even Paddington was nowhere to be seen.

I'm not doing anything wrong, I am just following my nose. I can fly by feeling very well. I don't have to pay attention and can keep my eyes on the woods. What causes that smell? Did WUK leave something on the fire or was a vandal digging in Mother Nature?

After a flight of less than 15 minutes, she arrived at a place she hardly recognised, some trees had been cut down. She hesitated but since the clearing made it easier to set foot on the ground she followed her nose. She slowly came closer to look at what was spread over the soil and what was inside the sack. There wasn't a single soul around.

Hello?
Potatoes, she cheered. How lucky that Wolf woke me up and I went out to have my peace instead of caring about a crying wolf. It's a good thing I followed my nose instead of my mind. She smiled and felt happy. She grabbed the sack of potatoes hugged it and jumped up and down for joy. Finally, she could keep her promise and visit her friend who lives on an island with the promised gift. She spread her wings and had a broad smile on her face as she landed in front of the cave.

Wolf will surely be surprised when he sees this gift, she said cheerfully to herself, but first a bath. She had a journey ahead of her and it was good to be clean before leaving.

I bet my writer's pen (if I had one) that I write better than I can draw. Or not. That would also have to be documented.
Of dragons and princesses. Storms on the wide sea. Of desert islands and rainbows, reflected in the rain. Everything is magic if life has colors. Everything is poetry.
In the distance, the dragons stopped flying. They had a beautiful theory. They were attracted by the exquisite smells of potatoes. Which prevented them from flying away. They fortified the caves and kept the sacks as relics.
The wolves remained in the steppes. Darkness reigned.
