Steem SEA Contest (Part 49th): Photography Contest- Betterlife | Helping Orphans by Giving Foods, Vitamins and Toys

Hello Steemians... I want to share to y'all what we prepared for children and to feel that there is a people who loves and value them.

Lately in morning at around 10:00 o'clock we were in the Childrens Haven Orphanage which is located in the Barangay Pilipog, Municipality of Cordova, Cebu, Philippines to share to the orphans for what we have in our own pocket. Together with my young adult team we collected enough amount of money from our own and without any sponsors just to buy foods, vitamins and also toys for the children. And we chose this kind of act to help the orphans of their needs because it's not easy to live without original parents and we value kids so much. And we are lucky enough because we do not experience the life that they experienced.

Even if there is a rain, it will not stop us from helping the orphans and put smile on their faces. And even though we were drenched in rain on our way to the orphanage we love it even more because we are willing to help and we don't depends on the weather situation.

As we are inside in their compound we didn’t last long we started the program with a prayer and conducting games for they will somehow forget for a moment their orphanhood. And as I observed the kids when I talked to them they are always silent and not to response at all, may be they will shy at first.

We pause the games for a while because we saw that the children were hungry, and we told the children to sit on their chair and waiting for food on their table as we distribute to them.

We prepared 100 pcs. of pack meals (inside the pack meal: 1pc. fried chicken, pansit, 2pcs. pork lumpia and 1 cup of rice) and also 100 juice drinks for the children including their guardian in the orphanage.

Me as a part of the activity, I am very much pleasured that I have my contribution to this kind of people that I am the one who made their hearts rejoice. And as I go on their tables they are happily eating and enjoying their foods.

We also have ice cream for them because we all know that kids love so much this kind of dessert.

I talked to girl and asked her what can she saId in our visitation to them and she replied "she is thankful" and she added "that despite in our orphanhood there are still people who love us". And her words really make my heart happy that they appreciates our effort.

Seeing every little kids without their original parents beside to them as they grow old is not an easy thing but I know for sure that this children are strong enough to face the reality, because in this place they are in the right hands to care, advice, love them unconditionally and to mold them as a better person in the future.

And at this time, we apologize to the children that we can't continue our games due to their school classes and some of them have an exam, according to the director of the orphanage.

We gave the toys and the vitamins to the director and they are the one who distribute it to the children.

All staff of the orphanage especially the director are sincerely grateful to us that they are the ones we choose to help because they are seldom receive guests that will give help to the children since the pandemic came.

And for us, we can't count how much that we spent for them but we will count the times that we made many people happy by giving, for the day will come that we are getting old we have a happy and good memories to look back. And we will continue to help with heart as much as we can.
