While preparing dinner I looked up and saw @sreypov lighting the fire, perfectly framed by the security bars in the window.

Fence Work Begins 👷‍♂️

     Hours before the above thumbnail was taken, work began on our fence project. My brother-in-law arrived last night, and today he began work on digging postholes. There is a low spot near our neighbor's house that I want to raise before building the fence, so I've borrowed a wheelbarrow and have been doing my best to backfill the area, but it will likely take 100+ wheelbarrows to level it.

Thai Envy 🌿

     Just across the border in Thailand I can buy this herb in dispensaries, but here in Cambodia an old cultural law exists that allows households to grow 2-3 plants. The activity in Thailand has caused many Khmers to show renewed interest in the benefits in this incredible plant, and I suspect Cambodia will follow suit in the next 5 years. Until that day I'll focus on my 2 legally allowed plants.

Daredevil Srey-Yuu 🦸‍♀️

     I was a little late on this shot, but I caught Srey-Yuu doing some stunts on little sister's bike. She rode down the bamboo stairs that lead up to the highway shack, and I'm sure it rattled her bones a bit, but kids recover quickly from these things, not like us dinosaurs.

     Not but a few seconds after Srey-Yuu's extreme bikin', a neighbor boy launched himself off a big rock while holding a smaller rock, not really sure the reason, perhaps trying to impress Monkey-B with his talents. I'm not familiar with this kid at all, but he seemed even wilder than Ah Boom, something hard to fathom. A little after this shot, I overheard these boys practicing screaming various "f*ck" phrases in English, and I let them know they'd need to leave my property to continue speaking like that.

Go Noni Go 🌱

     A few months ago we scored some noni saplings and planted them on our land. Noni trees have the ability to grow nearly anywhere, and sure enough these little things have survived the hard part and sent roots through the clay. They're finally showing signs of new leaf growth, and I've given them a bit of charcoal to enrich the soil and give them a boost.

Quick Swim With My Aqua Buddy 🏊‍♀️

     With the evening approaching, I was a bit sweaty and sticky, so I offered Monkey-B a chance to swim, and as always, she never refuses. Even though we had only a few minutes to swim, we still had fun, and Ah Boom came to watch and throw rocks at us while we swam. This little guy rarely does kind things, and the other day he was being so rude in our house that I had to scold him in front of his mother, an awkward moment for all.

Keeping Dad Entertained 👨‍👧

     While doing kitchen cleanup, my swimming buddy kept me entertained with a little read from one of her books. Every day I give thanks that my daughters are also my best friends, and when I have free time, there is nobody else I'd rather spend my time with than these two young ladies.
