Topiary Animals

in hive-103393 •  2 years ago  (edited)

I saw these Topiary animals in the Gardens by the Bay. They are woven from Indian Laurel, showcasing native animals from Southeast Asia.

According to the sign, species of fig from the botanical genus Ficus are the plants connecting all these animals life-styles, forming an intricate web of interdependent living creatures.

Ficus microcarpa, also known as Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan, Indian laurel, curtain fig, or gajumaru is a tree in the fig family Moraceae. It is native to Tropical Asia, and widely planted as a shade tree. - Information from Wikipedia
