The Diary Game Season 3, Brunei, a small and warm country

Let’s start with the Hong Kong Airport.
Hong Kong Airport is a very annoying airport in terms of baggage check. I have been asked to check it more than once, but in fact, I am just a 16-inch check-in box + a backpack. The total of the two luggages is about 7 kg, but The airport said that more than 5 kg will be checked. I will treat it as someone else strictly enforcing the law, but I am really upset. It is because I don't want to check it, I bring it with the suitcase, but I still have to check it in the end. And because my equipment has never been questioned in other airports, including airports in the United States, Singapore, Incheon, and several European airports, the only thing is that the Hong Kong airport is so annoying. Once I was not asked to check in at the boarding pass office in Hong Kong, but I was even asked to check in at the boarding gate. I was also drunk~~ I was annoying from checking in to the boarding gate.
However, Hong Kong airport is really good, that is, the food service. Although the price is a bit more expensive, there are still many restaurants to choose from, especially this time I found Lady M. Lady M, who wanted to go to Harbour City several times, found long queues. This time she could check in at the Hong Kong Airport leisurely because there were not many people and I had plenty of time.
Brunei Royal Airlines does not have a royal feel. It is an ordinary airline in terms of seats, catering, entertainment systems, and services. However, the main reason is that there are no pretty stewardesses and handsome flight attendants.

Landing in Brunei, the visa gambling is finally about to be revealed!
I looked around at the place of entry. I didn’t find the place to apply for the visa on arrival, and I didn’t dare to walk around to find it (because the places of entry and exit are more serious). Fortunately, a staff member offered to help and gave me directions. At first glance, it turned out to be two of the immigration counters, which means that visa on arrival and customs clearance are the same counter. There are not many tourists who need to apply for a visa on arrival, just submit the relevant documents (passports, air tickets, hotel orders, immigration cards) and a fee of 20 SGD. It takes 2 minutes to handle it. Bet to win the visa policy, high five to celebrate~
The booked hotel provides free airport pick-up and drop-off. I took my luggage and walked out happily. I thought I could see someone picking me up with a sign, but the scattered pick-up people in the arrival hall had been scanned back and forth several times by me, but none of them belonged to me. the goal. Did the pigeon be released? The taxi fare here is very expensive~ It really passed one level after another! I had no choice but to call the hotel first. Just as the other party answered the call, a person with a sign with my name walked into the arrival hall. Rely on~~ Lose the phone bill. Because the arrival hall is small, you can basically see it as soon as someone walks in. Finally it is connected. When I walked out of the airport, the weather outside was really good. It was cloudless, and it felt warm rather than hot. There was green everywhere and it felt clean. The driver is a local and very talkative, but Brunei has an accent in English and it takes a little time to adapt. He kept telling me about Wu Zun because he said that many Chinese came for Wu Zun. At first, I didn't understand Wu Zun's name. I didn't even know this person. Later I realized that he meant Wu Zun.
Along the road, the driver also introduced me to Wu Zun's bakery. When I drove into the small road of the hotel, I found Wu Zun’s primary school, Brunei Chinese School, just opposite the hotel. Although I heard that the school’s cafeteria seemed to be open to the public, I had no chance to go in and try. In terms of clothing and skin color, there are also some Brunei Malay students in the school because the girls wear headscarves and the skin color is also darker.

The Capital Residence Suites really recommend it, especially the airport shuttle service is very good. The location of the hotel is relatively downtown. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the pier. There are Omar Ali Saifuding Mosque and shopping malls, but there are not many shops in the shopping malls. There is a well-known Japanese restaurant in the pier, but unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to eat there. Of course, the price is a bit expensive. There are several well-known local restaurants in the nearby streets and lanes. We had our last dinner at a Chinese restaurant over there, which was not bad. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk to a local market, there are fruits but no durians. It’s far from the hotel to Padang, so you must take a taxi. The room is big enough, the bathroom is big enough, the bath water is big enough, and breakfast is included. Although there are few types of breakfast, there are basic bread, porridge, eggs, coffee, etc., and you can eat enough. During the stay, I also used the hotel’s car rental and day trip booking services. Our national park day trip was booked here, and the front desk staff of the hotel responsibly called my room to confirm related matters. The so-called car rental service, the hotel also helps to find a taxi, and then negotiate with the taxi driver the price for half a day or one day. Because the taxi driver who happened to find us was a Chinese teacher, I found it very convenient and kind.

  1. Classic day trip
The first attraction in Brunei is the Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, Brunei’s largest mosque. Since they came during the Spring Festival, they are mostly Chinese tourists. They waited a long time to get the robe. Because the number of robe is limited, you must wait for someone to return it before you can send it to the people behind. It is sent directly without any. The measures of disinfection, so personally feel a little unhygienic. Men and children don’t need to wear long gowns. Girls basically need to wear them. Because it is too hot there, most foreign girls are shorts or skirts, so they must wear them. Even girls who wear long trousers have short sleeves on the upper body, so they still have to wear them. However, there are not many places that can be visited indoors, and it is not possible to take pictures, so I can barely wear a robe, which takes about 10 minutes. It’s better to take some pictures of the mosque panorama in the courtyard. No tickets are required.

For lunch, go to the "Cheez Box" at a gate of Gadong Mall, and stop by Gadong Mall. The guide says that this restaurant will not step on thunder. There are indeed a variety of cuisines here, including Chinese, Western and Malay dishes. We have ordered some of various dishes, such as the most recommended beef noodles, Tom Yum Goong and French fries. The overall feeling is indeed not to step on the thunder, but there is no amazing feeling, it is okay, if you are in the Canadian market, I still recommend trying it, and the price is moderate. Gadong Mall is not worth visiting, except for the supermarket, but there seems to be no souvenir to buy in the supermarket. Next to it is the Katong Night Market, I plan to come back at night.

In the afternoon, I went to the Royal Regalia Museum, Brunei Royal Court Etiquette Exhibition Hall, free of tickets and free storage bags. If you look at it for yourself, it doesn't make much sense, because the explanatory text is not in Chinese, and there are many English that cannot be understood. But this is almost a must-visit place for Chinese tourist groups, so be sure to explain in Chinese. After a few explanations in Chinese, I heard a lot of gossip about the Brunei royal family, including how many wives the current king of Brunei has, how is each wife’s situation, and what is it like between the Brunei kings and brothers? . There are some strong materials, the tour guide still sells it, and said that it was only after returning to the car to tell the group members, then I naturally did not listen. Other gossip cannot be said publicly, but one thing can be told, that is, the current king of Brunei really grows upside-down. Also, there are soldiers patrolling in the exhibition hall, but these soldiers are not Brunei, but mercenaries hired by the Brunei royal family from Nepal, so the English is not very good, because the average Bruneis speak English better. OK. This is what the tour guide heard, and I don't know whether it is true or not.

After the gossip is finished, we are going to Kampong Ayer, passing by the Istana Nurul Iman Palace on the way, and we took a picture at the door. At the dock, a big "Bank of China" billboard on the other side looked very kind. Air Water Village feels like a magnified version of Hong Kong’s Tai O Fishing Village. I took a speedboat around the water village, and the breeze was blowing. It was pleasant~ The water village has its own mosque, school, post office, etc., and I went ashore at one of the piers of the water village. For a moment, I feel that the people who live here are still rich, because the houses are beautifully built, and everything feels clean. The water village is actually connected to the land by a bridge, but at the other end of the village.

I am finally going to today’s highlight of the Katong Night Market. I expected it to be a very large night market with many different things, but in the end there were surprises and disappointments. Surprisingly, it feels very clean here, and there is no feeling of wet night market everywhere. The disappointment is that it is mainly grilled food, full of smoke, and the food is too similar, grilled fish, grilled chicken butt, grilled squid, and some locals eat desserts with various pigments. Since the grilled chicken butt is a must-try item in the guide, we barely bought a bunch, but I still didn't have the courage to take a bite. My friend felt nothing special after eating it. I also bought a grilled fish, which tastes good. Another surprise is that the durians here are very delicious. I forgot whether it was 6 SGD or 9 SGD/piece. It was probably a big palm, and there was no mention of the variety. There were red, yellow and orange flesh. Because Brunei is located in Borneo and borders Sarawak, Malaysia. There is nothing to say about durians in Malaysia. There are no minefields from Musang King to its own varieties in various regions, so it is estimated that durians in Brunei are also very good. I bought two decisively, and immediately opened it and the meat yield was quite large. When I bite it down, "Wow~~good cream", this is the feeling of my friend who refused durian first in life under my instigation. This durian was also the next night we struggled for a long time whether to go to the Katong Night Market again, but in the end we were dispelled by the high taxi fare.
