Where is Siquijor Island?
Siquijor is an independent island, located 30 kilometers southeast of Negros, on the south side of Cebu City and Bohol, close to Dumaguete. The island accounts for only 0.11% of the country's total territory, and is the third smallest island in the Philippines. The island has narrow floodplains and deltas. Most areas are mountainous areas formed by coral reefs, and the coast is relatively flat.
Why did you choose to go to Siquijor Island, a place I had never heard of before, for 4 days? Because it is my ideal island tourist destination, it has: rich levels and crystal clear waters, fine white sand, rich and diverse scenic spots, friendly residents, pristine and quiet natural environment, and a medium-sized area suitable for traveling around the island. Playing here for a few days will not be like living on a small island such as Madai, facing the sea water every day, and quickly aesthetic fatigue, and it will not be like a big island such as Phuket, the hustle and bustle of Siquijor, which is full of beautiful scenery. It's just a comfortable vacation, letting people enjoy every moment here.

Ships from outside to Siquijor Island mainly depart from Tagbilaran Pier on Bohol Island and from Dumaguete’s pier. Duma departs more frequently, while Bohol Island is daily. .
Tips:
Starting from Bohol Island, you have to take a boat at Tagbilaran Pier, from Alona Beach to the pier, if you package tuktuk, it is about 600-1000 pesos. We chose to take a jeepney minibus, 20 pesos per person to the Tagbilaran Church Station, and then took a tuktuk directly to the pier, only 300 pesos, without luggage, you can walk from the church or even walk to the pier.
There are two piers on Siquijor Island, one is Siquijor and the other is Larena. The distance between the two is more than ten kilometers. Therefore, you must pay attention to the pier before choosing a suitable accommodation.
I set off from Bohol Island and chose the oceanjet ship. The speed is fast. The fare is 700 yuan in local currency for one and a half hours from Bohol.
For oceanjet passenger schedule/fare, please refer to the official website:
http://www.oceanjet.net/
Tips:
It is worth noting that I recommend that you buy the ferry tickets directly on the official website or at the on-site ticket window (at the terminal), because the tickets are not tight, and the fares are quite cheap, and the third-party website purchasing agents will charge a not low handling fee.
Internal traffic
Siquijor is a small island that is very suitable for roundabout. The roundabout road is picturesque and covers a total of 70 kilometers. The road conditions are very good. Whether it is renting a car or chartering a car, you can enjoy all the attractions in a day trip.
- Rent a motorcycle: "Lonely Planet" said Siquijor is the most suitable place to learn to ride a motorcycle, because the road is flat and the road conditions are good, it is an ideal place for motorcycles/bicycles to circle the island.
There are two bugs in this statement. One is that there are not a few bicycles for rent on the entire island; second, most motorcycle shops or hotels require drivers to show a domestic driver’s license or a motorcycle driver’s license. The familiarity of the motorcycle considers whether to rent a motorcycle. Because the speed on the island is still relatively fast, everything is for safety, so it is still very responsible.
The motorcycle rental price is very cheap, 350 pesos a day. - Tuktuk chartered one-day tour: a flat price of 1,000 pesos/day.
Tips:
The traffic in Xidao is very standardized. The price is clearly marked. The terminal will have a big picture showing the transportation charges from the terminal to all the hotels on the island. It is really great!
Maps and attractions
The main attraction of Siquijor is the five-pointed star shown in the picture above. Except for the caves, most of them are distributed on both sides of the road, which is easier to reach.
1.salagdoong beach, the most beautiful place in Siquijor sea, this beach has hotels where you can stay, non-hotel guests need to pay tickets to enter. The famous 10-meter diving platform in Xidao is on a reef beside the beach. When the sea is high tide to a certain extent, someone will open the platform, and then you can go diving at will. Very very very exciting!
The psychological struggle before jumping was very fierce, and I really didn’t feel like jumping...
- Cambugahay Falls tree vine diving
Compared with the excitement of jumping into the sea from the high platform of Sarah East Beach, tree-vine diving is much easier and more fun. This calcified waterfall is located in the valley. The clear river flows through the white riverbed, and the two banks are shaded by trees. It is really a good place to escape the heat. There is no charge to visit the waterfall, but there are many people on the roadside who will actively ask to lead the way. If you accept the guidance of the locals, you can choose to donate some tips to them, or not to give them.
The cost of tree vine diving is 100 pesos/person, and you can dive unlimited, which is really fun. There are beautiful small caves hidden under the small waterfall, you can swim in and take a look.
Tips:
Different diving places belong to different people, and the cost is not universal~
- Centennial Banyan Tree and Fish Pedicure
The big banyan tree is 100 years old. It is a local sacred tree. It's not bad to sit under the tree and soak your feet in a daze~ The fish in the pond are not small at all!
- The most beautiful coastline of San Juan+Paliton Beach
To say that the coastline of Tin Island is the most beautiful, it is from the west side of Paliton Beach to San Juan. It is worth looking for a hotel for fun.
4.Lazi church
Currently under repair
5.Cantabon cave
An underground cave on a mountain has a relatively small entrance. There will be an underground river in it, so it will get wet. It takes about 1.6 kilometers to go back and forth, and it takes about 2 hours. If you want to go, it is recommended to book the corresponding itinerary in the hotel, which is generally provided by the hotel.
Accommodation recommendation
Although Tin Island is not big, it is really a place where people can have fun and relax, and is completely carefree. So we stayed for 4 days. For different experiences, I lived by the sea/village/mountain. I have stayed in a good hotel, and I have lived in a bad place. I hope this advice can help you.
Required accommodation: San Juan area
No matter if you are planning to enjoy luxury or travel on a budget, you can't go wrong when choosing a hotel near the sea in San Juan area, because this area has rich layers of seawater, calm sea surface, fine sand, and you can see the beautiful sunset!
Both are good choices, I highly recommend Tropical fun ta sea
Quiet vacation: Salagdoong beach resort (salagdoong beach resort) is the only accommodation on the super beautiful saladoong beach, which is really beautiful

The Pearl of the Sea: If you have plenty of time, you might as well live on the mountains of Tin Island for two days. The firefly camp (Kamp aninipot) we stayed in this time is simpler, but it overlooks the Bay of Siquijor. The sunrise and sunset clouds roll and the clouds are comfortable, and when the weather is good, you can also encounter fireflies. In addition, the temperature on the top of the mountain is cool, and the cool wind blows people super comfortably throughout the day, sweeping away the tropical heat.
