Death Battle: Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) vs. Jason (Power Rangers)

Hi, everyone. I thought it would fun to join in on the conversation regarding predictions to the upcoming Death Battle between Leonardo, the leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Jason, the leader of the Power Rangers. For those unfamiliar with Death Battle, its an awesome channel on the Rooster Teeth website that takes famous fictitious characters and analyses their skills, armour and weapons to determine who would win in a simulated battle to the death, hence the name. The show is hosted by Wiz and Boomstick, who do deep scientific research into every aspect of the characters that they showcase, covering the original source material and working out their durability and strength through the feats they accomplish in their respective stories.

In a battle of leaders, Leonardo the blue ninja turtle battles Jason, the red ranger, and the question is, who will come out victorious. Here's my brief analysis and prediction.

Weapons

Going off of memory, Leo wields two twin swords called Ninjackens, while Jason comes equipped with a small blaster and small sword. Given the fact that Leo has trained since he was a little kid, you would have to assume that he has far more competency and understanding of his weapon, and several others. As for the Red Ranger from the original series, Jason was chosen as a highschool kid, and doesn't possess the same level of experience. I give the edge to Leonardo.

Armour

Leo comes with his natural and very durable turtle shell, which isn't exactly easy to pierce, and it protects most vital organs. The rangers suit, by comparison, never really looked that durable with the exception of the helmet. Unless the crew can draw from comic canon that shows the advanced tech of the suit and its ability to absorb damage, I'll leave this section as even.

Skills

Again, Leo has far more years of martial arts training than Jason, specializing in everything from Karate to Ninjutsu to name a few. It also isn't Leo's first rodeo in the Death Battle arena, as he battled his brothers and won based in part on his strength, but also largely because of his tactical skills. Jason was chosen as a Power Ranger, and I feel that the suit gives him the lion share of his powers, and because of that, I think the edge goes to Leonardo.

The Winner: Leonardo

Of course, this is only what I think, I look forward to hearing from others who might have a more intimate knowledge of the two character. In the mean time, check out this video of the Turtles battling against each other.
