I am happy to participate in this week contest in @urdu community which topic is SOCIAL MEDIA. Social media is defined as interactive forms of platform that allow users to interact with and publish to each other, generally by means of the internet.

I love social media a lot and at the same time social media scare me a lot too. I love social media because it a platform where one can gather information and learn new things, one can connect to family and friends who are far away in different countries and continents, we can also meet people on social media and create positive bond even when we have not met with the individual in person. Through social one can make a living by earning through social media platforms. Marketing of goods and services is now easy and interesting to do because of social media. These and many more reasons why I love social media. On the other hand social media scare me a lot because of hackers can tamper with your personal information and many users’ lives had been marred due to activities on social media. It is wise we use social media positively to impact lives.

The social media I use the most is whatsapp.

I make use of so many social media like Facebook, Whatsapp, twitter, instagram, hive, steemit and few others to interact, read articles and to keep update on the happenings in the world. Among all these social media I am active in, I spend more of my time on Whatsapp.

Whatsapp is a social media application that permits users to send encrypted messages from one end to another. It is the easiest way of communication because messages get delivered instantly as far as there is internet connection and the cheapest form of communication because it does not require service charge. People can communicate with their love ones in far away country with Whatsapp with zero charges. Again, there is privacy in Whatsapp social media. Only those with my contact can send me message or send me invitation. As a user, you have control of the people you want in your space and the people you wish to interact with.

Whatsapp has benefited me in many ways.

I started using whatsapp in 2014 when I left home to hostel for my college studies. I installed whatsapp in my phone to communicate with my family and friends who are very far from. With the aid of Whatsapp platform, I did not miss home even though that was my first time leaving home and going to a new environment without my family because I was able to communicate with my family and friends through whatsapp voice and video call. It is a very way of sending and receiving messages, it is a very cheap way of sending message and making call. With internet connection I can speak for hours on whatsapp just with small deduction in my data bundle.

Why do you think spending more time on steemit than on other social media platforms can help you grow in life and benefits your life?

I joined steemit platform last year after my friend @concord-leo advised me join. I was not so interested in the platform but she just asked to start that I will enjoy the platform. I started and I began to enjoy the activities going on in different communities. I came to realize that steemit platform is different from other platforms in so many ways I will list out. I have learnt a lot since I joined steemit ranging from the knowledge I gathered about cryptocurrencies by reading various challenges on crypto academy community. Though I have little knowledge in crypto but since I joined this platform I have gotten better knowledge on crypto trading. Again, users can make money in this platform while learning new things. Time spend in steemit platform is monetized and rewarded when you post quality contents.

I have also improved in my writing skills since I joined this platform. I read other users post and I pick challenge to improve my writing skill. I have also learnt different culture, foods and many others. Steemfood is one of my favorite communities because of the eye-catching dishes I see whenever I visit the community. I have also made new friends in the platform from different countries. Finally, users on steemit platform are polite, never use harsh nor vile words and they always encourage each other.

The disadvantage of steemit.

It is time and data consuming to write quality post on steemit and most times the posts are not voted. It discourages users.

Conclusion

I love steemit platform because it is educational, inspiring and rewarding. Many users have made fortune from steemit community and gathered wealth of knowledge through this platform.
